Nothing I have is truly mine

"Nothing I have is truly mine" goes the lyrics of that song that many have come to know and love.

Indeed, nothing I have is truly mine... not the life, not the talents, not the time, not the abilities, not the strength, not all the creativity, nothing! None of it is really mine, I am but a steward.

At the end of the day, I have to account for all I have received...surely, I must account for it all to my Master Jesus.
I will have to account for the opportunities, the youthful energy, the relationships, the grace, the time, the gifts and abilities.

He'll pop the question, "what did you do with all that I gave you?" Oh! May I not give Him a blank stare, with nothing meaningful to say in response.

When I am done accounting how I spent (or wasted or invested) my life and all that came with it, would I receive, "well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Lord"?
....Or would it be, "you wicked and lazy servant" and then I would be cast into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth?

Dear Lord Jesus, please help me, let it be the former, let me receive praise from you when I have accounted for all you have given me.
Help me be a profitable servant, help me be that servant who will make a significant return on your investments on my life, let me not be termed "wicked and lazy", but "good and faithful".
Help me use my life, abilities, influence to win souls to your kingdom. In Jesus' name.

Because really, nothing I have is truly mine.
