Our God is omnipotent (that's indisputable!), and that means He is all powerful. It is an appellation reserved for Him alone as no other being - whether in the heavenlies, on the earth or beneath the earth - can be referred to as "omnipotent"!
When we say our God is omnipotent, we generally mean He has the power to DO all things. And that's right! Absolutely. God certainly has the power/ability to DO all things.
He's capable of doing even beyond our wildest thoughts and imaginations (Ephesians 3:20)! And besides, His thoughts and ways are far higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9); and His plans for those who love Him are such that man's heart is yet to conceive (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).
God's omnipotent nature tells us that indeed nothing is too hard for Him (Genesis 18:14); we are in effect saying nothing is impossible for God and rightly so, or is there?
However, beyond that, here's another way to look at God's nature of omnipotence...
Yes, His omnipotence means He has the power/ability to DO all things, it also means He has the power/ability to BE all things.
The word 'omni' means all, and 'potent' means power/ability.
So since our God is omni- (all) potent (powerful), that means He not only has the power to DO all things, He has the power to BE all things.
We don't always need someone to DO something for us
In life, I have found that you don't always need someone to DO something for you, sometimes you just need them to BE something to you.
You just need someone to BE there for you...to be a certain person you need...you need someone...
To BE a shoulder to lean on...
To BE the trusted friend...
To BE an accountability partner...
To BE the person you share you with....
To be a true brother/sister...
To just BE someone you need...This is where our God's omnipotence applies in this light...
Who do you NEED God to BE to you?
Our God has the power to BE who you need..."I AM WHO I AM", He called Himself.
He has the power to BE the comforter you need...
He has the power to BE the teacher you need...
He has the power to BE the help you need...
He has the power to BE the friend you need...
He has the power to BE the mother/father you need...
He has the power to BE brother/sister you need...
He has the power to BE the sponsor/provider you need...
He has the power to BE the inspiration you need...
He has the power to BE all that you need, and even much more...
He is omnipotent - not only capable of DOING all things, but also of BEING all things needed...to me and to you...
So who do you need Him to BE to you today? Embrace His "BE-all-ness"! He's the best kind of who you need...
He's the truest, most devoted friend you can have...
He's the most loving father/mother you can have...
He's the most willing help you can have...
He's the best teacher you can have...
He's the sole provider that's got it all...
Our God is not just a DO-all, He's also a BE-all...will you embrace Him today?
