Choose this day whom you shall serve

In whose arms would you rather be,
On whose shoulder would you rather lean on,
In whom would you rather trust,
In whose hands would you rather place your life,
At whose feet would you rather lay,
Who would you rather trust with your future?

In the one who loves you without bounds - no limits love,
In the one who gave Himself for you,
In the one who has the best thoughts and plans for you,
In the one who went beyond the limits of human suffering to see you saved,
In the one who bypassed natural laws and defied natural wisdom to save you,
In the one who took a massive "pay cut" (by becoming mortal) just to ensure you have a chance at eternal life?

Or the one who mission is clear - to steal, kill and destroy,
The one who goes about like a roaring seeking whom he would devour,
The one who has been lying from the beginning and is the father of lies,
The one who is set out to ensure you miss out on eternal bliss and glory in God's presence, but to end up in eternal torment, regret and gnashing of teeth, never ending and, worse, separation from God.

Before you this day are two choices - life in Christ or death in sin,
The difficult/straight path or the broad way,
The narrow gate or the wide gate?
Choose for yourself this day whom you shall serve.
Me? I will serve the One who loves me more than I can ever know, the one who loves me with a boundless love.

"And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for
yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods
which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
(Joshua 24:15).

"For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your
God, and Him only you shall serve."
(Luke 4:8)
